Loneliness on the road is different, I can hike a trail and be alone, but it's not emotionally painful. If other hikers do come along, I smile and say hi. I bring instruments and art to work on. I do a lot of journaling and if I want to be near people, I can go into a restaurant and strike up a conversation. I started traveling because of the loneliness just being at home.
